Barter and Location.

October 6th, 2009 · No Comments

A common misconception is that businesses only barter with local businesses. There’s no need to think so narrowly. It doesn’t matter where in the world you barter with as it is based on two parties wishing to exchange or barter goods or services. A factory in Ohio may barter with a company in Texas that provides raw materials.

Maybe you barter with a local office of a worldwide company. Perhaps other locations would like to barter with your company as well. It does not matter what state they are in…barter works anywhere! Your trade doesn’t have to be one on one. Utilizing trade exchanges locally and around the country can make connections through barter.

Businesses in the 21st century are focused on having a global presence not just a local or regional presence. If your company does business internationally, then barter is just as easy. Instead of paying cash, pay with barter. There are often cases when international companies order US products to be shipped to their US plants. Don’t limit your barter transactions to just the US.

International barter will grow as international businesses reach more customers worldwide. You can position your business in the world market by being open to barter internationally. Don’t miss the opportunity!
